Country: Barbados
Alcohol: 41.5%

Farrington then developed this noble rum mixed with spices. The recipe was so successful that the rum was used pure, on ice or in various cocktails.
Rhum Dillon Canne Rouge
Country: Martinique
Alcohol: 50%
When it comes to the production of spirits, it always depends on the raw material. In the case of rum, this is sugar cane, from which sugar cane juice, sugar cane honey and molasses can be obtained. The majority of rums on the market are based on the latter. Rum from Martinique, on the other hand, is produced under French control as Rhum Agricole and uses sugar cane juice. Accordingly, it is important to rely on a high-quality raw material. The maker of Dillon Rum has specialized in certain types of sugar cane, such as canne bleue (blue sugar cane) and canne rouge (red sugar cane). The Rhum Dillon Blanc Canne Rouge 2019 pays tribute to that variety while honoring the terroir that influenced the sugar cane by growing it on a plot within the sugar cane plantations.
The expressive Rhum Dillon Blanc Canne Rouge 2019 is presented as a rhum blanc – i.e. as a white rum. This means that the Martinique rum did not mature in wooden barrels after distillation according to the AOC regulations. Clear and powerful, the Rhum Dillon Blanc Canne Rouge 2019, made with great attention to detail, convinces with a high alcohol content. However, it is not as high-proof as a classic overproof rum. As a vintage rum, it benefits from the harvest of a single vintage and also reflects the conditions such as the weather in that year. Connoisseurs appreciate this as well as its authentic character.
If you give the Rhum Dillon Blanc Canne Rouge 2019 a chance, you will be seduced in an intense and rich way. The full-bodied Agricole Rum reveals interesting notes of vegetables, accompanied by a fruity undertone. You can also look forward to a spicy undertone and a slight alcoholic bite. What speaks for the Rhum Dillon Blanc Canne Rouge 2019 is that it also shows a fascinating contrast of sweet and salty nuances. Thanks to its high drinking strength and its complex profile.
Hampden Estate 8 Year Pure Single Jamaican Rum
Country: Jamaica
Alcohol: 46%
Jamaican rum looks back on centuries of history. The Caribbean island was once dotted with distilleries. Unfortunately, things are different today. As on the neighboring islands, the number of distilleries has dwindled rapidly over time, but some of the once giants have thrived against the competition. These include the long-established Hampden Estate Distillery with its impressive heritage. She has taken over the production of the Hampden Estate 8 Years Pure Single Jamaican Rum, which is available with regular alcohol content and as a high-proof Overproof Edition.
The characterful Hampden Estate 8 Years Pure Single Jamaican Rum is typical of its home country. Jamaican rum is usually a relatively heavy spirit based on fermented molasses that is discontinuously distilled in a pot still. As a rule, one encounters so-called high ester rum, which has a high ester content. This is partly accompanied by the typical “funk” that the Jamaican rum deserves to be recognised. All this also characterizes the exemplary Hampden Estate 8 Years Pure Single Jamaican Rum from the Caribbean. After distillation, it was allowed to rest in American white oak casks for almost a decade before being bottled at a comfortable drinking strength in a limited number of bottles.
In terms of aroma and taste, one should not underestimate the Hampden Estate 8 Years Pure Single Jamaican Rum from a well-known house. As expected, the rum from Jamaica is funky and powerful. A certain alcoholic undertone accompanies the fruity notes. Banana chips and a certain savory spice emerge. The complex, dry Hampden Estate 8 Years Pure Single Jamaican Rum rounds it all off with dried fruit and wood. Anyone who likes it strong, self-confident and hardly at all sweet will get their money’s worth here. The golden rum comes to the customer without artificial colors and without additional sweetening and is anything but subtle. Experts are in demand here.

Plantation Original Dark Rum
Country: Barbados
Alcohol: 40%
The Plantation Original Dark Rum is one of the first rums in the series and now comes from Barbados. This is a premium blend that shines an elegant, reddish pale gold in its bottle. Like its relatives, the Plantation Original Dark Rum benefits from the fact that it first rests in its country of origin in ex-bourbon casks from America. It is then shipped to France, where it matures for several months in small cognac barrels in the cellars of Cognac Ferrand. Such a procedure was widely used in the 18th and 19th centuries, but is now rare. It gives the dark blended rum the finishing touch.
The aroma and taste of the Plantation Original Dark Rum convince with a mixture of sweetness and spice. Pralines, toffee and exotic spices harmonize with each other, accompanied by a soft, full mouthfeel. After a mild start, the taste develops more strength and richness of nuances. It flatters the palate with spice, tropical dried fruit and the sweetness of candy. Tannin and a certain dryness mingle with the enjoyment. In the finish, the Plantation Original Dark Rum from Barbados presents itself as short but expressive. Oak wood, vanilla and passion fruit are noticeable.

Clairin Le Rocher Ansyen
Country: Haiti
Alcohol: 47.7%
A really extraordinary rum with hints of whiskey is Le Rocher Clairin Ansyen 21 months . It is a light, golden-yellow rum with a striking and exquisite taste.
This is surprisingly soft and round for such a young distillate. Fine sweet notes from the sugar cane syrup and a certain fruitiness meet pleasantly tart wood notes. All these fine nuances work together in an extremely aromatic form and create a unique, unusual taste experience.
This rum is very young, clear Clairin, which is 100% natural and was only allowed to be stored for 21 months and has therefore not matured for two years. Le Rocher Clairin Ansyen spent these 21 months in oak barrels, which is extremely atypical for this type of spirit. Even more untypical is that these are former bourbon whiskey barrels, which is what creates the unique taste. In many ways this is an unusual rum: three experts were involved in the fine drop. The sugar honey rum is distilled by Michel Sajous in Haiti. Luc Litschgi’s distillate is selected in Marseilles for the Carry Nation company. And the distiller Luca Gargano also shaped the rum significantly on behalf of the independent bottler Habitation Velier.

In terms of aroma and flavor, the amber rhum JM Jardin Fruite offers both power and charisma. As advertised by the manufacturer, it ensnares the senses with its savory fruitiness. It’s like strolling through an orchard in summer. The tropical-looking, richly fruity Rhum JM Jardin Fruite also has a slightly sweet effect. Flambéed desserts with tropical fruits come to mind.
