The Americans and the people of South and Central America have also discovered viticulture for themselves. In Peru and Chile e.g. B. the pisco a centuries-old tradition. As a distillate from grape must, it is something like the national drink of the Chileans. The spirit achieved its international breakthrough thanks to mixed drinks such as the Pisco Sour. If you feel like it, you shouldn’t miss the Pisco MalPaso Reservado with its exemplary character. It can even be experienced pure.
The name of the exciting Pisco MalPaso Reservado refers to the secret of its success. Similar to Reserve Wein or Reserva Rum, for example, the grape distillate was stored and refined as a result. The basis for the spirit is the Alejandría variety from the Moscatel family (Muscat). The grapes come from the vineyards of the eponymous Hacienda Malpaso in the Limarí Valley. The family-run company produces traditional pisco from its own white wine grapes. As a classic Reservado, the golden Pisco MalPaso Reservado has an alcohol content of between 38 and 40% vol. It was obtained by double distillation. It then spent a total of six months in stainless steel tanks, American oak barrels and French barriques. The trouble was worth it.
The Pisco MalPaso Reservado has a lot to offer in terms of aroma and taste. There is a slight hint of oak and sweetness that joins the fruity main notes. From time to time the mature Pisco also shows its floral side. The muscatel grapes really come into their own. Lemon and honey join pear, peach and spice cake. You can tell that the long and harmoniously lingering Pisco Malpaso Reservado with a lemony profile is a positive sign that it was allowed to rest for a while. Comparable to Reposado Tequila or golden rum, it has a mature elegance, but also a youthful temperament.

The new juniper distillery was built in 1907, in which the sixth generation of the sixth generation of the great-great-great-grandchildren of Peter Christoph Eversbusch produce the Eversbusch Doppelwachholder 46, which is well-known beyond Hagen’s borders. And it is precisely this gin that has been an outstanding product among juniper connoisseurs for generations. Tradition has been a top priority here for generations. Not only do the brothers stick to the traditional recipe, they have also been sourcing their juniper berries from the same importer in Tuscany for over three generations. Chemicals are consistently avoided in production. Without exception, only raw materials are selected that were used 200 years ago.
