March Specials
March is upon us, which means spring is just around the corner, but winter is not yet done with us. After an exciting and eventful February, time to get a bit of Spring flavours and aromas, but still keeping some wintery ones just for you. So without further ado, I present you the March menu:
The flavours here represent the early spring, lingering winter cold and trying to bring a bit of sunshine to y'all. We have couple of returning cocktails : “Dune Negroni”, which got a bit of a facelift with addition of just a tiny bit of Strega to emulate "spice" from Dune; "High Sour", a sour dry edition to "High" series focusing on dry gin with Tubi 60 and dry vermouth with just a hint of bergamot; and "A Bomb", a creation with one of my regulars to make the best use of the espalette chili flavours with aromatic cachaca and porto branco.
We also have "Lavender Creeper", a beautiful mix of dry gin, Espresso Underberg and Lav'a Belle lavender amaro, which appeared as a very limited edition for the Valentine's Day coming back for full month.
And now, all the brand new concoctions:
- "Bison Grass": a simple long drink using Zubrowka as a base, with a bit of all-spice liqueur and organic apple juice.
- "Oriental Tea" was supposed to be part of Chinese New Year celebration, which unfortunately didn't happen for us, but it demanded to see the light of day with its exotic combination of Ming River baijiu, pandan liqueur and jamsine green tea.
- "Sacred Planes" is reminiscent of "Sacred Goat", but along with Mastiha and porto branco it uses healthy dose of tequila blanco.
- "Salty Toffee" is another experimental old fashioned based on genever oude and blended whisky spixed up by a salty caramel rum liqueur.
- "Hedge Maze" an adaptation of a cocktail created by Yanni Kehagiuaras at Stoa bar in San Francisco using Old Tom gin mixed with Luxardo San'Antonio liqueur and dry vermouth.
"Milky Way" a true wild forest dessert mixing 43 vegan horchata with wild berry, hazelnut, black walnut, maraschino nd many other forest flavours.
"Strawberry Fields" is based on an amazing strawberry liqueur by Berlin Distillery with base of rhum agricole and some sake for balance.
"Golden Dragon" is another remnant of Chinese New Year celebration using baijiu, lavender liqueur and porto branco to create floral, sweet and fruity masterpiece.
"100 Year Old Cigar" is another adaptation from Carey Jone's 2016 Brooklyn Bartender book of recipes utilising smoky whisky, rum, Cynar and Benedictine to create a strong character and intense flavours.
Try to come early in the month, as few of the cocktails are limited and won't last whole month. ;)
