The ultimate Christmas present!

Aviation
Country: USA
Alcohol: 42%
“I’ve tried every gin on the planet and Aviation is, hands down, the best.
Also, I don’t recommend trying every gin on the planet. Stick with this one.”
– Ryan Reynolds
The Aviation Gin is labeled as “American Dry Gin”, meaning that the flavor profile is less associated with juniper flavor. Seven botanicals are used in its production: juniper, lavender, sweet and bitter orange peel, cardamom, coriander, Indian sarsaparilla and anise. The gin is distilled twice. The gin was named after a classic cocktail called Aviation. In 2018, actor Ryan Reynolds acquired a stake in the brand.
This is one of the best balanced gins out there. Very tasty when sipping pure at room temperature, but does wonders in combination with Dr. Polidori tonic water or in combination with Aqua Monaco Extra Dry for real gin lovers.
Bathtub Gin
Country: UK
Alcohol: 43.3%
Bathtub Gin has a slight golden/umber tinge to it, something close to the color of cedar planks. The nose is heavy with juniper, cinnamon and cardamom; orange oil adds a touch if citrusy depth. Overall, the nose is quite heavy.
The palate builds quietly, with cinnamon, orange and juniper culminating all at once. As they fade, fresh cracked juniper berry gives way to notes of forest and clove. The finish is quite long with cinnamon and orange again dominating.
Very smooth spirit overall, but heavy on the spices and herbs. In cold compounded gins, you definitely get a side of common ingredients like cinnamon that you don’t always pick up when they are distilled. For example, the cinnamon in here rather than the high notes of freshly ground and the prickly sting of distant cinnamon-like spice, you almost get a more literal fresh-ground-cinnamon note in here.
We recommend Bathtub pure or paired with either Thomas Henry Dry or Aqua Monaco Extra Dry with slice of cucumber.
Del Professore Crocodile Gin
Country: Italy
Alcohol: 45%
The exciting Del Professore Gin Crocodile is a juniper spirit that aims to revive a bygone era. It does not embody the well-known London Dry Gin, but the Old Tom Gin, which was popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. This means that while it also focuses on the juniper berries, it is less dry. The subtle sweetness predestines the Del Professore Gin Crocodile with the authentic character for mixing certain long drinks and cocktails such as Tom Collins. The promising gin from Italy easily stands up to the better-known bottlings from England. It was made with great attention to detail by the Antica Distilleria Quaglia. As an Italian gin, it is rare and particularly appeals to connoisseurs looking for variety.
In terms of aroma and taste, the Del Professore Gin Crocodile convinces with a natural, traditional pleasure. A gentle sweetness joins the self-confident personality and good structure. Round, rich and balanced, Old Tom Gin from the old distillery benefits from a combination of classic and exotic botanicals. Flavoring ingredients include juniper, coriander, citrus, elderflower and Jamaican pepper. The botanicals were allowed to macerate in a distillate obtained from grapes. All in all, the Del Professore Crocodile is robust, rustic and pleasing. Vanilla is joined by a herbal spiciness reminiscent of aniseed.
In 2018, this innovative spirit from the Mediterranean country won silver at “The Gin Masters (The Spirits Business)”.

Gunpowder Irish Gin
Country: Republic of Ireland
Alcohol: 43%
The secret of success and at the same time what is special about the juniper schnapps can be deciphered from the name: The English term “gun powder” is generally used to describe gunpowder, but what is meant in this case is the so-called Gunpowder Tea, a Chinese tea with an unusual shape to the flakes, which are the main ingredient in flavouring.
In terms of taste and aroma, the Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin steps out of line without being too exotic. In addition to classic ingredients such as juniper berries, coriander seeds and citrus fruit peel, the botanicals also include tea. Grapefruit, lime and lime give the juniper schnapps a sour, fruity freshness that contrasts nicely with the oriental flavour. The gin from the copper pot still has an alcohol content that is neither too high nor too low.
We recommend it pure or in combination with Aqua Monaco Extra Dry Tonic.

GiNSAN!TY White Truffle Gin
Country: Germany
Alcohol: 42.5%
In 2017, Dagmar and Michael Frangenberg made their gin madness their motto in life and profession: Ginsanity! Several years of training and experiments are paying off, the gins have long been known and loved outside of their home town of Cologne. These gins are full of passion and the best ingredients as well as a dash of madness. The latter is reflected in the always special and unusual new varieties!
Four years after the start there was a redesign for the bottles and three new gins in 2021!
The Ginsanity White Truffle is probably the most extravagant newcomer. Juniper, white Alba truffle, lime, pepper, ginger and chilli bring a very special taste to the glass.
Skagerrak Nordic Dry Gin

The gin reflects Scandinavia and the Nordic botanicals, making it a unique yet classic and extremely well made gin. The botanicals used from the Nordic region include sea buckthorn, rosehip and seaweed, as well as caraway to illustrate the relationship with aquavit. The result is a crisp, fresh and extremely tasty gin that we can really recommend.
Canaima
Country: Venezuela
Alcohol: 47%
A multitude of unknown plants and ingredients thrive under the evergreen canopy of the Venezuelan rainforest. It is not for nothing that the Penóm Indians living there call their region a “mystical land”. The manufacturers of Canaïma wanted to capture this mysterious mystique and reproduce it in the form of an extraordinary gin. They did an excellent job! As soon as the bottle is opened, the exotic, fruity and floral aromas seduce the nose, reminiscent of the lush green of the Amazon rainforest and its fascinating light moods.
Needle Gin
Country: Germany
Alcohol: 40%
A classic gin carries a bit of British, Dutch, Spanish and of course German history. But a Black Forest gin like the Needle not only combines the best of classic gins, but also convinces with a uniqueness that only a real Black Forest gin can give. The green apothecary’s bottle conceals a distillate whose classic base is formed by aromatic juniper berries. Flowery lavender in coordination with the typical spiciness of ginger characterize the taste. In addition, the Needle spoils with a citrus note from sun-ripened lemons and oranges of the best quality. Adding allspice and cinnamon also adds a touch of the Orient.
Needle is all Black Forest, because with a lot of lifeblood, passion and commitment a product was created that is created and loved in the beautiful Black Forest in Baden.
TASTE: The Needle Black Forest Dry Gin tastes like the Black Forest itself. The extraordinary spruce needle botanical paired with the freshness of juniper, lemon and ginger make the Needle a truly extraordinary gin that stands out from the crowd.
DRINK: The Needle actually speaks for itself, so we recommend a restrained tonic that does not block the infallible taste of the Needle, but supports it.
For G&T we recommend it paired with Aqua Monaco Extra Dry without garnish or with a small branch of Rosemary. Needle also goes well with Dry Thomas Henry Tonic.

Quite apart from a gin and tonic , which of course always goes well, Edinburgh Cannonball Gin is also a martini with vermouth and orange bitters. But it’s best to try it yourself.
