December Specials
December is a festive month with lots of fun, parties, finishing up things, buying presents and visiting your family, but it is also a magical season for cocktails. This month, you will find plenty of drinks embracing the season through spices, port wine, hints of smoke and jolly spirit (pun totally intended)!
Few favourites from yesteryears make there re-appearance: funky, yet refreshing "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" based on Fernet Branca and tarragon lemonade along with golden extravaganza of "Fallen Berries" using spiced rum and Goldwasser, "Italian Biscuit" gives warm festive feel right along with festive take on "Old Fashioned" - "Southern Twist" using port wine and maple syrup atop of classic bourbon. We also have "The Grinch" coming back to steal the Xmas along with 3 drinks introduced this year: "Delightful Date" - a pisco riff on "Old Fashioned", "Clarity" - a spirit heavy concoction putting mezcal on a pedestal and "Harvest Moon" - a fan favourite pisco drink with chili peppers and sour tang first seen during our Pisco week in Sep and then being a bestseller at Suspiria Bar last month.
Now, introducing the newcomers:
- "Forest Sprite" - a take on a dirty dry "Martini" using mix of a spruce vodka from Estonia and smoked rosemary gin from San Francisco with pine liqueur and dry vermouth and smoked rosemary twig to top it off.
- "Styx" - is a pitch black concoction just like the water in the river Styx using black gin, black walnut liqueur along with Benedictine and gentian flower liqueur creating a sweet, yet boozy and extremely intense taste.
- "Rye-ward" - is a surprisingly balanced and surprisingly unobtrusive rye whiskey drink with a mastiha twist.
- "Umburana Way" - follows in the footsteps of "Hawaiian Silk" (and shares some ingredients), but instead of rum it is based on Umburana (or Amburana) wood aged cachaca, which gives this delicate and classy cocktail a christmassy feel.
- "Seahorse" - gives you all you love about mezcal wrapped up with tangy sea buckthorn liqueur and some sweetness and nuttiness of Maraschino liqueur, making this a fan favourite in the making.
