“After the first glass of absinthe you see things as you wish they were. After the second you see them as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, and that is the most horrible thing in the world.” – Oscar Wilde

Libertine Fleur d'Absinthe
Country: France
Alcohol: 60%
Thujone: 25mg
The Absinthe Libertine Fleur d’Absinthe is a very special absinthe from France from the Devoille distillery. Especially because a sprig of wormwood in the bottle gives off its effect and changes the taste and effect. The ingredients for this Absinthe Fleur d`Absinthe are purely natural. The color of this absinthe turns brownish and is therefore not 100% traditional, but thank God it is natural. Recently, an innovation in French law allowed more fennel to be used in absinthe. That is why the Devoille distillery used more fennel in this absinthe Fleur d’Absinthe than in any other absinthe from this distillery. Despite the sprig of wormwood in the bottle, this absinthe is not bitter, but develops a fresh and well-rounded drinking experience when enjoyed. Like almost every absinthe from Devoille, the individual distillates are mixed together and then we should have the best result. The absinthe Fleur d’Absinthe is said to be the first absinthe with a sprig of wormwood in the bottle from France.
Cthulhu Verte
Country: Germany
Alcohol: 68.3%
Finally, after 3 months of development, countless attempts at concentrated recipe development, we have succeeded in creating an absinthe that is worthy of paying homage to Cthulhu, one of the great elders from HP Lovecraft’s fantasy epic.
Cthulhu is a handcrafted premium absinthe consisting of two phases, each specially distilled and then blended into one great whole.
On the one hand, Cthulhu Absinthe contains traditional absinthe ingredients, such as two different types of wormwood, fennel and anise. In addition, unusual, oriental herbs such as cardamom and coriander complement its exceptionally sweet and tart taste profile.
The sensory appearance was rounded off by a second maceration with blackberries and wormwood, which produces the intense blue-green color.

Absinth Beetle
Country: Czech Republic
Alcohol: 70%
Thujone: 35mg
Absinthe Beetle from the Czech distillery L`OR Special Drinks is a very special absinthe. In addition to the delicious absinthe in the bottle, it also contains a type of giant locust that is actually native to New Guinea. This animal called “tree lobster” (lat. Eurycantha horrida) cannot fly and stays on the ground or in trees. Here at L’OR Special Drinks it has found its way into the Beetle Absinthe bottle.
Hardcore absinthe drinkers eat this beetle while drinking absinthe. The Beetle Absinthe itself is a herbal, low-anise absinthe with a great finish that makes the palate to rejoice. A fine bitterness of wormwood can be tasted towards the end. For die-hard absinthe drinkers, who don’t mind an animal in the bottle. Also very suitable as a decorative object. After vodka with scorpions, mezcal with worms, here’s absinthe’s answer. In addition to the beetle in the bottle, the Beetle Absinthe also contains 35 mg/kg thujone. Its effect can be seen just above the King of Spirits Absinthe. This absinthe is distilled purely by hand in very small batches without the addition of any artificial additives. It’s naturally colored.
Absinth Ordinaire 70
Country: Germany
Alcohol: 70%
Thujone: 32mg
A high-thujone German absinthe from the distillery Ulex, founded in 1795 in Neuhaus an der Oste.
The name comes from Doctor Pierre Ordinaire, a doctor who settled in Couvet in 1792 as a refugee from the French Revolution. Some sources credit him with the invention of Swiss absinthe, and the Henriod sisters are said to have received their legendary absinthe recipe from him.
The ‘Ordinaire’ is macerated and not pre-sugared, in terms of taste it is one of the bitterest German absinthes, it is made by hand from natural products.
La Coquette
Country: France
Alcohol: 72%
The Désirée is one of a series of traditional absinthes developed by Vert d’Absinthe, an absinthe shop in Paris that has unfortunately since closed. The absinthes are characterized by their traditional production and recipe, they can be recognized by the labels with depictions of women from the Belle Epoque.
The recipe for this absinthe distilled with wine alcohol dates back to 1899.
As is typical for Devoille, the taste is rather tart with herbs, but the green aniseed gives this absinthe an extraordinarily full and rounded character.

Roquette 1797
Country: France
Alcohol: 75%
Roquette 1797 Absinthe is a complex, unusual and tart absinthe directly based on an 18th century manuscript recipe. It represents the first serious attempt in the modern era to recreate an absinthe from the very birth of La Fee Verte. As the drink that is seen between schnapps and drink, just like a magical and mystical elixir or as a modern aperitif.
Roquette 1797 Absinthe contains the classic ingredients of anise, fennel and large wormwood along with several other herbs, some not found in any other commercial absinthe. The absinthe is distilled in Pontarlier in an antique alembic in small batches and is only available in very limited quantities.
The oldest distillations in the latest Roquette bottling are almost 18 months old, with the youngest around six months old, and this level of maturity will maintain a viable production.
Absinthe Roquette 1797 should be prepared with ice cold water added to the absinthe as slowly as possible, ideally drop by drop. Careful preparation like this allows its subtly translucent louche and powerful, room-filling scent to develop to its best effect.
The coloring of Roquette 1797 Absinthe is achieved in the most traditional way possible using only two classic coloring herbs. Like all natural chlorophyll stains out there, the shade will gradually fade over a period of time. The bottle should be stored vertically and kept in a cool, dark environment like a fine wine. Under no circumstances should it be exposed to sunlight or extreme temperature fluctuations for any length of time. Each Roquette 1797 bottle is closed with a high-quality reusable wooden cork (T-cork) and finally sealed by hand with red sealing wax.
The number “1797” indicates the date of the manuscript recipe used, and “Roquette” pays tribute to the name of the faithful horse, whereupon Dr. Ordinaire-the legendary father of absinthe rode around the Val de Travers, tribute.
Herr der Frösche Absinth
Country: Germany
Alcohol: 68.3%
In the well deep on his throne,
Can be seen through the water,
The one frog that everyone is already
calling The Lord of the Frogs!
This absinthe was distilled according to an original recipe from 1870 from the Val de Travers, the place of origin of absinthe. It was elaborately macerated by hand and then distilled. Then, in a second maceration process with a large number of different herbs, the very dense color and flavor intensity was created. It has a very complex aroma density, which is characterized by aniseed, fennel and wormwood notes. Its long finish reveals fruity notes of raisins and dark chocolate.

La Luna Absinthe
Country: Denmark
Alcohol: 61%
Thujone: 35mg
With La Luna, Plateau Spirits have made their very own version of an absinthe, in which the wormwood and anise get help from other fresh flavours like papaya, coconut, coffee beans, angelica root – all this is allowed to “pull” for a whole week on fresh lemon balm / heart delight .
This absinthe is a real delight for the palate and you immediately forget the high alcohol percentage of 61%, but beware, this s a far cry from your traditional or Czech style absinthe. This absinthe is almost half way to Aquavit, which creates an absolutely unique taste experience not seen on any absinthe before.
Serpis Dry 55
Country: Spain
Alcohol: 55%
Thujone: 30mg
The absinthe Serpis Dry 55 is fruity and entirely anise free. It is as charming as it is original. One thing is sure is that it is original, whether for its aromas or for its colour. That is probably why many amateurs appreciate it so much. Once mixed with water, its red colour turns into a beautiful apricot colour that goes perfectly well with its fruity aromas.
Bairnsfather
Country: Czech Republic
Alcohol: 55%
Thujone: 9mg/kg
This absinth is naturally green from chlorophyll from the herbs used in production. The fragile healing and aromatic compounds removed from the herbs during the maceration process, are not destroyed by violent distillation (which some self-proclaimed absinthe gurus claim is the only way to make absinthe). Instead of the destructive process of distillation, we use freeze filtration, which preserves the herbal compounds for your enjoyment.
Mansinthe
Country: Switzerland
Alcohol: 66.6%
Thujone: 20mg/kg
Marilyn Manson’s absinthe: distilled and naturally coloured, according to the rules. A great surprise. A certain complexity is hidden behind Mansinthe’s simplicity, and will surprise more than one. It suggests hyssop and green anise flavours on discrete grand wormwood notes, and offers an agreeable finish. An absinthe that will please fans as well as amateurs!
Absinthe Depot Berlin
(Hausmarke Bitter)
Country: Germany
Alcohol: 60%
About 15 years ago Absinth Depot Berlin developed this unusual absinthe as their house brand together with Ulex.
Unlike most absinthes, it contains almost no anise. The distinctly bitter taste of vermouth stands in contrast to a lemony-fresh sweetness that was achieved by adding Curaçao.
Absinthe is an ideal summer drink, it is best to drink it on ice with a dash of water.
Gothicsinthe
Country: Czech Republic
Alcohol: 89.9%
Thujone: 35mg/kg
In addition to the Karmagiddon, the Gothicsinthe with 89.9% alcohol and thujone in the maximum range is the strongest absinthe from the Cami distillery in Dobronice.
Like most products from this distillery, the Gothicsinthe is also handmade.
It contains a total of 6 different natural herbs, some of which were added after the distillation to achieve the greatest possible effect.
In order to soften the aniseed taste, which is often dominant in absinthe, the much milder green anise was used instead of star anise.
The absinthe is coloured black to match the name.
Zyankali Absinthe
Country: Germany
Alcohol: 66.6%
Own creation of Zyankali Bar owner, Tom. This disticntly light blue absinthe has bitter almond aroma and doesn’t contain any anise both visuallyh and smell-wise resembling ctanide (Zyankali translated into English means cyainide).
Mild absinthe with very good mixability. Thanks to the lack of anise and the mild tatse it is very suitable for beginners.
Brevans H.R. Giger
Country: Switzerland
Alcohol: 68%
Thujone: 35mg/kg
The recipe for this absinthe comes from the book “La fabrication des liqueurs” by J. de Brevans from 1897.
Like most of Oliver Matter’s products, it is very complex and herbaceous, but balanced and wonderfully mild. It goes without saying that it does not contain any artificial colouring or added sugar, the herbs used come largely from the area around the distillery and are produced according to ecological principles.
The picture on the label, Brain Salad Surgery II, comes from HR Giger, after whom absinthe is also named.
The original painting was stolen in 2005 and HR Giger offered a reward for finding it before his death.
Blanche de Fougerolles (SOLD OUT)
Country: France
Alcohol: 74%
A clear and bitter absinthe from Fougerolles.
The Blanche de Fougerolles is distilled in two stages from 11 different plants, including large and small wormwood, green aniseed, hyssop and veronica, in wine alcohol.
The rough but extremely complex taste makes this blanche unmistakable.
This absinthe is also available under the name Enigma Blanche especially for the English-speaking market.
Verte de Fougerolles
Country: France
Alcohol: 72%
The Verte de Fougerolles is made according to a recipe from this time, in our opinion it is currently one of the best French absinthe.
The taste of the distillate is rather herbaceous with a strong presence of bitter wormwood. Green anise and fennel give the absinthe a sweetness full of character that can be read in the background.
Of course, the Verte de Fougerolles is not sugared, it only contains natural ingredients.
This absinthe is also available under the name Enigma Verte, mainly for the English-speaking market.
